C/R: Man, 40, arrested in Cape Coast over alleged assault following viral video
The Central Regional Police Command has arrested a 40-year-old man, Samuel Bills Acquah, for allegedly assaulting a 30-year-old woman in Cape Coast.
According to a police statement, the arrest follows a viral video that drew public attention to the incident.
Police said they received a report on March 27, 2026, at about 9:30 PM, indicating that the suspect had assaulted the woman, with whom he shares a child, at Bakano in Cape Coast.
Officers proceeded to the scene upon receiving the report and effected the arrest.
The suspect is currently in police custody assisting with investigations.
Police further indicated that he is expected to be arraigned before court on March 30, 2026, for prosecution.
