Awutu Beraku court drops poster defacement charges against NDC officer
The Awutu Beraku District Court has discharged Cassius Otto Larbie, NDC Communications Officer, and two others, striking out the case against them.
Larbie, Robert Tetteh, and Bright Ayittey were arrested in September 2024 for allegedly defacing NPP Parliamentary Candidate Eugene Arhin's posters.
The court, presided by Naomi Konto, had initially remanded them into police custody, then granted GHS 2,000 self-recognisance bail with one surety each.
After six appearances and several adjournments, the case was dropped.
Larbie said the trial was "pure political persecution" and he's been exonerated.
Larbie praised the NDC's win, especially in Awutu Senya West, and vowed to work harder for the party.
