Ghana Medical Trust Fund engages health stakeholders ahead of April rollout
The Ghana Medical Trust Fund has intensified preparations toward the rollout of its operations, engaging key stakeholders in a series of strategic meetings in Accra.
The Fund, which began its operational journey in October 2025, says it has since focused on laying a solid foundation for a smooth and effective takeoff.
Management noted that significant efforts have gone into aligning systems, strengthening internal processes, and building stakeholder confidence.
As part of this final phase, the Trust Fund is convening heads of selected health facilities, alongside their Medical Directors and IT teams, for a three-day engagement aimed at deepening understanding of its service package and digital systems.
The sessions were expected to enhance coordination between the Fund and participating institutions, while ensuring that all technical and operational requirements are fully met ahead of the official rollout.
The Administrator of the Fund, Adwoa Oboubia Darko Opoku, described the engagement as a critical “final systems check,” emphasising that the success of the initiative will depend on strong collaboration and shared commitment among stakeholders.
The Ghana Medical Trust Fund is expected to begin full operations in April, with a focus on delivering efficient and reliable healthcare financing support across the country.
