The Minister of Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has raised concerns over what he described as a general lack of seriousness among some Ghanaians when it comes to personal health, stressing the need for a shift in attitude toward preventive care and healthy living.

Speaking in an interview with Nana Kwabena Bobie Ansah on Accra100.5FM, the Minister acknowledged that while many citizens value their health, challenges remain, particularly in access to quality healthcare services.

He noted that a section of the population is unable to afford essential medical care, a situation the government is determined to address.

“We may not always take our health as seriously as we should, but it is our responsibility as a government to ensure that quality, free primary healthcare is accessible to every Ghanaian in every community,” he stated.

Mr. Akandoh emphasized that the Ministry of Health is committed to implementing policies that will expand access and reduce financial barriers, especially for vulnerable groups.

He further assured that the government is prepared to take bold and decisive actions aimed at improving healthcare delivery and ensuring that no Ghanaian is left behind.
