Technology must be a force for empowerment, not endangerment – Lordina Mahama
First Lady Mrs Lordina Dramani Mahama has reaffirmed Ghana’s commitment to protecting children in the digital space as she participates in the Fostering the Future Together Global Coalition Summit in the United States.
Mrs Mahama is attending the two-day summit at the invitation of United States First Lady Melania Trump, who is convening first spouses from around the world to discuss strategies for creating a safer and more equitable digital environment for children.
In a commitment statement issued ahead of the summit, Mrs Mahama stressed the need to ensure technology is used positively.
“Ghana stands ready to ensure technology becomes a force for empowerment, not endangerment, for every child. Our children’s future is our shared moral duty and generational responsibility,” she stated.
The summit is expected to promote international collaboration and policy dialogue focused on safeguarding children online while advancing inclusive digital opportunities.
