Sam George updates Parliament, engages journalists on SIM registration plans
The Minister for Communications, Digitalisation and Technology, Samuel Nartey George, has appeared before the Public Assurances Committee of Parliament of Ghana to provide an update on responses he previously delivered to the House.
The Minister described the engagement as productive, noting that it offered an opportunity to account for commitments made and outline progress on key issues within his sector.
Later in the day, Mr. George engaged close to 100 journalists at the National Communications Authority Towers in Accra to discuss the upcoming SIM registration exercise.
The meeting formed part of efforts to involve key stakeholders in shaping the process, with the Minister seeking feedback and suggestions from the media ahead of the rollout.
He assured that the planned exercise would prioritise public convenience and be conducted with transparency.
Mr. George emphasised the importance of stakeholder engagement, indicating that continuous consultations would be maintained to ensure a smooth and inclusive implementation of the SIM registration process.
