Clients stranded as CLOGSAG strike disrupts public services in Ashanti Region
Several people have been left stranded at government offices across the Ashanti Region following an industrial action by members of the Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG).
The strike, which is linked to concerns over working conditions, has affected services in a number of public institutions, leaving many clients unable to access essential services.
At the Controller and Accountant-General's Department office in Kumasi, several clients were turned away as staff members stayed away from their posts.
The situation has also disrupted operations at various Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) across the region, where services that residents depend on daily have been affected.
Many of the stranded clients at the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department expressed frustration over the disruption, saying they had travelled long distances to access services only to be informed that staff were on strike.
Some of the affected individuals who spoke to reporters called for a swift resolution to the dispute to enable the offices to resume normal operations.
The strike action has heightened concerns about delays in public service delivery in the region if the impasse is not resolved quickly.
