The Director of Agribusiness Development at the Presidency, Dr Peter Boamah Otokunor, has embarked on a three-day study tour of the Bui Power Authority acquisition area as part of preparatory activities toward the rollout of the Bui Agro Economic Enclave Initiative.

The initiative forms a key component of the broader Bui City Project, which aims to drive large-scale agricultural production and agro-industrial development.

The tour focused on technical and agronomic assessments of the area to determine its viability for various agricultural ventures.

Preliminary findings indicate that the enclave holds significant potential for commercial aquaculture as well as large-scale crop production, with an estimated capacity of over 300,000 hectares.

Officials say the vast land area could support multiple agro-industrial activities, positioning the enclave as a major hub for food production and processing.

The project is being implemented through a partnership between the Presidency’s agribusiness development unit and the Bui Power Authority, under a broader presidential initiative to expand agro-production and industrialisation.

Dr Otokunor believes the development of the enclave will play a crucial role in boosting agricultural output, creating jobs, and contributing to Ghana’s economic transformation agenda.
