The Ghana Medical Trust Fund has commenced the rollout of its GMTFcare system at the Ho Teaching Hospital, marking a significant step toward improving healthcare delivery through digital innovation.

The implementation, currently underway, involves the installation of the system by a team of engineers alongside intensive hands-on training for healthcare professionals.

A pilot phase of patient onboarding has also begun, aimed at testing and refining the system ahead of full-scale deployment.

The latest development builds on earlier successful implementations at major referral facilities, including the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, Korle- Bu Teaching Hospital, Tamale Teaching Hospital, and Sunyani Teaching Hospital, as part of preparations for a nationwide rollout.

Chief Executive Officer of Ho Teaching Hospital, Hintermann Mbroh, speaking on behalf of management, staff, and patients, expressed appreciation to the leadership of the Trust Fund for what he described as a timely and impactful intervention.

He noted that the initiative had long been anticipated and would significantly enhance healthcare delivery at the facility.

In response, the Administrator of the Fund, Adjoa Obuobia Darko-Opoku, reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to transforming access to quality healthcare across the country.

She expressed satisfaction with the progress made so far, highlighting the importance of system installation, staff training, and patient onboarding in achieving the programme’s objectives.

The GMTFcare initiative is expected to streamline healthcare processes, improve patient experience, and strengthen confidence in Ghana’s healthcare system as the Trust Fund advances toward nationwide implementation.
