E/R: Nkwatia SHS student hospitalised after alleged cutlass attack by church security guard in Nkawkaw

A 19-year-old final-year student of Nkwatia Senior High School, identified as Opoku, is receiving treatment at the Koforidua Regional Hospital after he was allegedly attacked with a cutlass by a security guard at the Arena of Love Church in Nkawkaw Winners.
The incident reportedly occurred on the premises of the church.
According to information available, the victim had an encounter with the church’s security guard under circumstances that are currently under police investigation.
The student sustained severe cutlass wounds during the incident.
He was first rushed to Holy Family Hospital but was later referred to the Koforidua Regional Hospital due to the severity of his injuries.

Police in Nkawkaw have arrested the security guard, identified as Yaw Donkor, to assist with ongoing investigations.
Meanwhile, the victim’s mother, who recounted the incident, expressed concern over the attack on her son and called on the police and relevant authorities to ensure justice is served.
She also appealed to authorities to handle the matter swiftly to help prevent similar incidents in the community.
