BE/R: 3 arrested over murder of Abamba Queenmother
The Ghana Police Service has arrested three suspects in connection with the killing of the Queenmother of Abamba near Amantin in the Bono East Region.
The suspects, identified as Rafiu Haruna, Muftawu Adamu, and Michael Owusu Spermi, were apprehended by the Bono East Regional Police Command through an intelligence-led operation, according to police.

The arrests are linked to the fatal shooting of Nana Serwaa Asaamaa Kuma Gyan, the Queenmother of Abamba, near Amantin in the Atebubu area.
Police said the incident occurred on February 25, 2026, when the Queenmother was shot at her residence located in the Methodist Church area in Atebubu.
The three suspects are currently in police custody assisting with investigations, while authorities continue efforts to identify and arrest any other individuals who may have been involved in the crime.
The police have assured the public that investigations are ongoing and that all perpetrators connected to the murder will be brought to justice
