Former Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia has extended Eid-ul-Adha greetings to Muslims in Ghana and across the world, calling on citizens to uphold the values of sacrifice, kindness and national unity during the celebration.

In a message shared to mark the Islamic festival, Dr. Bawumia reflected on the spiritual importance of Eid-ul-Adha, describing it as a period that highlights faith, obedience and selflessness.

According to him, the occasion should inspire people to support one another and strengthen peaceful coexistence irrespective of religious, ethnic or political differences.

In a Facebook post, the former Vice President stated that the celebration serves as a reminder of the importance of sacrifice and unwavering faith in both personal and national life.

He further encouraged Ghanaians to demonstrate compassion and generosity towards the less privileged while promoting togetherness within communities.

Dr. Bawumia also prayed for peace, prosperity and blessings for families across the country as Muslims observe the festival through prayers, charitable acts and the symbolic sacrifice of animals.

Eid al-Adha, widely known as the Festival of Sacrifice, commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son in obedience to Allah before a ram was provided in his place.

The celebration is traditionally marked by communal prayers, the sharing of food with the needy and family gatherings among Muslims worldwide.
