Exclusive: Audio reveals how Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka's body was moved from the Transitions morgue to Mpota
Audio Alleges Decoy Used to Transport Apostle Kwadwo Safo's Body to Funeral Grounds
The mortal remains of Apostle Dr Kwadwo Safo Kantanka were allegedly transported from the Transitions Funeral Home in Accra to Mpota in the Central Region using an elaborate decoy ahead of his funeral.
Accra FM's Ghana Yensom morning show, hosted by Chief Jerry Forson, exclusively aired what it described as a leaked recorded audio of a man said to have been involved in the operation, detailing how the body was moved to others in his circle.
Speaking in Akan (Twi), the unnamed man claimed a Kantanka vehicle was first driven to the funeral home to create the impression that Apostle Safo's body would be placed inside it.
"However, we made a truck go to the back of the building and we put the body in there," he said.
He alleged that the rear of the Kantanka vehicle was deliberately shut in full view at the parking lot to make it appear the body had been loaded.
"When that car was moved, three cars came to cross it," he said.
According to him, the occupants of the three vehicles said they had come for the body on behalf of Nana Kwadwo Akofena Safo, who is locked in a dispute with his sister, former Dome-Kwabenya MP Sarah Adwoa Safo, over their father's burial arrangements.
The man further claimed they were informed that a police commander had ordered the arrest of the Kantanka vehicle's driver.
He said the driver and others eventually parked and locked the Kantanka vehicle before leaving the scene unnoticed.
"Their crew were still there watching and guarding the empty car," he claimed.
"We swerved them yesterday," he added.
He further alleged: "Apparently, when we moved, they were monitoring the car. Their plan was to use guns to come and take the body."
"They thought we were doing the funeral without the body," he said.
The funeral of Apostle Kwadwo Safo began on Thursday at the Apostle Kwadwo Safo Centre in Gomoa Mpota despite a High Court injunction restraining the burial.
