GIPC, MASLOC explores partnership to boost diaspora investment and enterprise growth
The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre, Simon Madjie, has paid a working visit to the Chief Executive Officer of the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre, Abigail Elorm Akwambea Mensah, to explore avenues for collaboration aimed at promoting economic empowerment and supporting enterprise development in Ghana.
The discussions focused on the proposed MASLOC Diaspora Investor/Entrepreneur Matching Project, an initiative designed to connect Ghanaian investors in the diaspora with micro and small businesses in the country.
The project seeks to mobilise small-scale investments from abroad and channel them into local enterprises to drive growth and job creation.
Under the arrangement, GIPC—mandated to oversee diaspora investment—will work alongside the Bank of Ghana to provide policy guidance and ensure regulatory compliance for the initiative.
The collaboration is expected to establish a structured framework that safeguards investor funds while enabling MASLOC to mobilise resources to support its clients across the country.
Both institutions reaffirmed their commitment to building strategic partnerships that will enhance access to finance for small businesses, stimulate enterprise growth, and promote inclusive economic development.
