Traditional Priests and Priestesses (Wulɔmei and Wɔyɔi) of the Ga Adangbe State have formally petitioned the President of Ghana, calling for urgent intervention in the revocation of the licence of McDan Aviation to operate the Fixed Base Operator (FBO) Terminal 1 at Kotoka International Airport.

In a letter dated April 10, 2026, and addressed to “Your Excellency,” the petitioners — representing the Onamroko Korle-We Stool — expressed concern that the decision could undermine investor confidence and negatively impact indigenous Ghanaian participation in key sectors of the economy.

The petition, signed by Korle-We Stool Secretary Nii Ashong and other traditional leaders, emphasized the spiritual and socio-economic implications of the issue. According to the group, the matter goes beyond a business dispute, touching on peace, fairness, and the prosperity of the land.

They highlighted that Terminal 1 had previously fallen into disrepair after operations were moved to Terminal 3.

However, McDan Aviation, led by businessman Daniel McKorley, reportedly invested significant resources to refurbish the facility into a modern private jet terminal. The project, they noted, positioned Ghana as a growing hub for private aviation in West Africa.

The priests argued that revoking the licence without what they describe as transparent and fair processes could send negative signals to both local and international investors.

They further stressed the importance of protecting indigenous businesses that contribute to national development.

Among their key requests, the petitioners called for:

- An independent and transparent review of the circumstances surrounding the licence revocation

- Assurance that due process and natural justice are upheld

-  Protection of Ghanaian-owned investments

-  Clear reassurance to the business community about the safety of investments in the country

Copies of the petition were also sent to the Office of the Chief of Staff at Jubilee House and the Ministry of Transport.
