The Ghana Maritime Authority (GMA) has donated food items and essential supplies to the Princess Marie Louise Children's Hospital and the Weija Leprosarium as part of its Easter outreach activities.

The initiative, aimed at supporting vulnerable groups and sharing the spirit of the festive season, saw the Authority present various items to both institutions in Accra.

At the Princess Marie Louise Children’s Hospital, the GMA donated 50 bags of rice, 20 packs of malt, and 10 boxes of chicken to support the nutritional needs of patients at the facility.

Presenting the items on behalf of the Authority, Acting Director of Public Relations, Susie Afua Kotoku, said Easter offered an opportunity to demonstrate compassion and solidarity with those in care.

She expressed hope that the gesture would bring comfort and joy to the children.

Management of the hospital, including Medical Superintendent Mame Yaa Nyarko and Head of Public Relations, Rockson Obeng, thanked the Authority for the timely support.

The GMA team later visited the Weija Leprosarium, where they donated 10 bags of rice, 10 cartons of malt, and five boxes of chicken to support residents.

Ms. Kotoku commended the management of the facility for their dedication to caring for individuals affected by leprosy and vulnerable children, noting that such efforts deserve recognition and continued support.

The donations form part of the Authority’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives aimed at supporting communities and institutions in need.
