A fire outbreak involving a private vehicle was recorded near a Star Oil service station at Madina Ritz Junction in Accra on Thursday morning.

The incident occurred at about 11:07 a.m. and involved a Dodge saloon car with registration number GE 4181-16.

According to the management of Star Oil Ghana Limited, the vehicle caught fire while attempting to make a U-turn in front of the station.

Officials clarified that the vehicle neither entered the fuel station nor purchased fuel prior to the incident.

Staff at the station responded swiftly by deploying available fire extinguishers, with additional support from nearby shop operators, while alerting the Ghana National Fire Service.

Before the arrival of fire officers, a water tanker assisted in dousing the flames with the help of bystanders.

The Fire Service reportedly arrived within seven minutes to support efforts at the scene.

No casualties have been reported, and the cause of the fire is yet to be determined.

Star Oil has assured the public that its operations at the Madina Ritz Junction outlet remain unaffected and that it is cooperating with relevant authorities as investigations into the incident continue.
