The chapel named after Georgina Baiden

History has been made in the Methodist Church in Ghana with the dedication of a chapel in honour of Georgina Baiden, making her the first living person to have a church building named after her.

The newly inaugurated Georgina Baiden Chapel is located at Wesley Towers and recognises her longstanding service and contributions to the Church, where she previously served as Lay President.

The event, which drew members of the church and well-wishers, celebrated Mrs. Baiden’s decades of commitment to faith and leadership within the Methodist community.

Family members, including her children—who are actively involved in both the Methodist Church and the Lighthouse Chapel International—were present to honour her at the age of 87.

As part of the ceremony, a plaque for the Mfantsipim Old Boys Association Secretariat was also unveiled.

Moses Kwesi Baiden Jnr, CEO of Margins Group and a son currently serving as Abusuapanyin of MOBA, was among the key figures associated with the event.

The Baiden family, originally from Sekondi-Takoradi, was widely congratulated for the honour, which many described as a testament to a life of service, faith, and enduring impact.

The dedication of the chapel marks a significant milestone within the Methodist Church, highlighting the role of exemplary leadership and lifelong commitment to faith in shaping the Church’s legacy.
