Gov't cuts sod for new concourse to link terminals at Kotoka International Airport
President John Dramani Mahama has cut the sod for the construction of a new concourse to link Terminals 2 and 3 at the Kotoka International Airport, in a move aimed at improving passenger experience and operational efficiency.
The ceremony was attended by the Minister for Transport, Joseph Bukari Nikpe, and his deputy, Dorcas Affo-Toffey, alongside other government officials.
The project is expected to provide a seamless connection between the two terminals, reducing transfer times and enhancing the overall travel experience for passengers using the country’s main aviation hub.
Officials say the development will also improve operational coordination at the airport, positioning it to handle increasing passenger traffic more efficiently.
The initiative forms part of government’s broader agenda to modernise critical infrastructure and strengthen Ghana’s position as a competitive aviation hub in Africa.
Authorities emphasised that the project aligns with efforts to transform Kotoka International Airport into a preferred gateway for international travel, reflecting the country’s growing role in global aviation and commerce.
