Gov't team takes over Adamus Resources operations lollowing licence revocation
A joint government team has taken control of operations at Adamus Resources Limited following the revocation of its mining licence.
The takeover occurred on April 26, 2026, when an official from the Minerals Commission, Francis Anobil, accompanied by personnel from the National Anti-Illegal Mining Operations Secretariat (NAiMOS) and about 40 military officers, visited the company’s plant site.
The team met with the acting General Manager and the company’s security officials, where they formally announced the government’s decision to revoke the company’s permit and assume immediate control of its operations.
According to officials, mining and processing activities will continue despite the takeover, with assurances that no worker will lose their job during the transition.
As part of the interim measures, the government team directed that the accounts office be temporarily shut, while control of the gold room has been handed over to the Minerals Commission representative until further notice.
Management staff have also been instructed to attend a meeting with the takeover team, while all company documents, including contracts, are to be submitted for review.
Additionally, security has been intensified across key mining zones, and all operational vehicles are to be presented for inspection.
Authorities have also placed restrictions on the movement of equipment from the processing plant, requiring prior approval for any such activity.
The move forms part of broader government action following findings of regulatory breaches in the company’s operations, with officials expected to conduct further assessments in the coming days.
