Ghanaian businessman Ibrahim Mahama has announced that his former private jet will now serve as an emergency air ambulance, offering free transport for Ghanaians in need of urgent medical care.

Speaking on the initiative, Mahama stated, “Any Ghanaian with a medical emergency who needs to be flown out for treatment can use the jet free of charge.

I have dedicated it to the nation to support both local and international medical emergencies involving Ghanaians.”

The move underscores Mahama’s commitment to philanthropy and providing critical healthcare support.

The jet is expected to be deployed for emergencies requiring rapid transport to specialised medical facilities, both within Ghana and abroad.

Health officials and observers have welcomed the gesture, noting that the initiative could significantly improve access to timely medical care for patients in critical conditions, especially those in remote or underserved areas.

This donation adds to Mahama’s record of supporting initiatives aimed at improving the welfare and health outcomes of Ghanaians.
