A prosecution witness in the trial involving former Director-General of the National Signals Bureau (NSB), Kwabena Adu-Boahene, has told the court that most funds transferred from his account were paid to the bureau’s Head of Finance as a loan facilitated through Advantage Solutions Limited.

The third prosecution witness, Mildred Donkor, a former accused person who is now testifying for the state, made the disclosure on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, during cross-examination by the Deputy Attorney-General.

She stated that she acted on instructions from the first and second accused persons to transfer monies to Edith Ruby Opokua Adumuah, describing the payments as loan arrangements.

According to her, she was repeatedly told that the funds were needed as loans, which informed her decision to keep detailed records of all transactions.

Donkor told the court she also informed Adumuah that the transactions were being documented for repayment and reconciliation purposes.

During proceedings, she confirmed under questioning that a spreadsheet presented by the prosecution matched the records she had kept, and the document was subsequently admitted into evidence.

Kwabena Adu-Boahene, his wife Angela Adjei-Boateng, Mildred Donkor, and Advantage Solutions Limited are facing multiple charges including conspiracy, stealing, and causing financial loss to the state.

The case centres on an alleged diversion of GH¢49.1 million said to have been earmarked for a cyber defence system that investigators claim was never supplied.

Donkor, previously listed among the accused, is now testifying on behalf of the prosecution, which also relies on evidence from investigators and other witnesses in the ongoing trial.
