President Mahama inspects Akosombo Dam following fire incident
President John Dramani Mahama has arrived at the Akosombo Dam to assess the condition of the facility after a recent fire outbreak in the Eastern Region.
The planned visit comes amid growing public concern over recurring power outages in parts of the country, with many questioning the stability of electricity supply.
During the inspection, the President is expected to receive briefings from engineers and officials of the Volta River Authority and the Ghana Grid Company on the extent of damage caused by the incident and progress made in restoring affected systems.
The visit is also aimed at reassuring the public of ongoing efforts to stabilise power generation and transmission, as well as outlining measures being implemented to prevent further disruptions.
