The Deputy Minister for Defence, Ernest Brogya Genfi, has dismissed reports alleging that military lands have been allocated to the President’s brother for private development, describing the claims as false and malicious.

He urged the public to disregard the reports, clarifying that no such arrangement exists.

According to the Deputy Minister, the facts relate instead to an ongoing self-help housing project by the Ghana Armed Forces aimed at replacing ageing and dilapidated colonial-era structures within Burma Camp in Accra.

As part of efforts to support the initiative, Ibrahim Mahama, Chief Executive Officer of Dzata Group Holding Limited, has donated GHS120 million towards the construction of 10 housing blocks, each comprising 16 residential units.

The project is intended to improve accommodation for military personnel and enhance their welfare.

A fundraising luncheon to support the initiative was held at the Ghana Military Academy, chaired by Sam Jonah, where several corporate organisations and partners of the Armed Forces made additional pledges.

Mr. Genfi commended Mr. Mahama for what he described as an extraordinary act of patriotism, noting that the contribution would directly benefit members of the Armed Forces who play a critical role in maintaining national peace and security.

The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to improving living conditions for military personnel through strategic partnerships and infrastructure development.
