The Member of Parliament for Weija-Gbawe in the Greater Accra Region and Deputy Minority Chief Whip, Jerry Ahmed Shaib, has distributed sandals to final-year basic school pupils across nine schools within the Weija Circuit as part of efforts to support candidates preparing for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

The exercise, held on April 28, 2026, forms part of his “Buckle Up to School with the MP” initiative, aimed at providing essential items to schoolchildren, improving attendance and promoting dignity among young learners in the constituency.

The sandals, which are made in Ghana and produced within the Weija-Gbawe Constituency, were presented to pupils sitting for this year’s BECE.

Speaking during the exercise, Mr. Shaib reaffirmed his commitment to supporting basic education and ensuring that students have the necessary resources to succeed.

He was joined by the Member of Parliament for Oforikrom, Michael Aidoo, who commended the initiative and highlighted the importance of collaboration in advancing education and child welfare.

The “Buckle Up to School” initiative continues to impact pupils across the constituency, as efforts are intensified to improve educational outcomes and ensure that no child is left behind.
