Manhyia Palace declares surrounding areas strict no-fly zone for drones
The Manhyia Palace has designated the palace and its surrounding areas as a strict no-fly zone for all drones and unmanned aerial vehicles, effective immediately.
In a notice, Manhyia Palace, the seat and official residence of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, in Kumasi, Ashanti Region, said no aerial operations will be permitted without prior, explicit authorisation from the Palace or the relevant authorities.
It warned that unauthorised drone flights will result in the confiscation of equipment and may lead to legal action.
The notice was posted on the palace's Facebook page on Saturday, August 15, 2026.
