Promise delivered: KGL pays GHS 153 million to GRA as corporate income tax
The KGL Group has presented GHS 153 million in corporate income tax to the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) at a tax compliance ceremony held at the Authority’s headquarters in Accra.
The presentation marks a significant milestone in the company’s contribution to Ghana’s economic development and underscores its commitment to responsible corporate citizenship and tax compliance.
Speaking at the event, the Executive Chairman of KGL Group, Alex Apau Dadey, described tax payment as a shared responsibility in nation-building rather than a burden.
“At KGL, we create value and share that value responsibly. Paying tax is our way of giving back to the community that makes our success possible,” he stated.
Mr. Dadey disclosed that in 2025 alone, the Group made total direct payments of GHS 350 million to the state, including GHS 180 million remitted to the National Lottery Authority (NLA).
He further noted that the company’s performance reflects the growing capacity of indigenous Ghanaian businesses to drive national development while remaining competitive.
Beyond tax contributions, KGL Group continues to invest in social impact initiatives through its foundation, committing over GHS 40 million to community development projects.
The company has also supported national programmes, including sponsorship of the senior national football team, the Ghana national football team, and youth football competitions, as well as infrastructure projects such as a medical centre in Kumasi and facilities at the University of Ghana.
Facilitating the event, Martin Kolbil Yamborigya commended KGL Group for its strong compliance record, noting that such contributions are essential for government to deliver on its development agenda.
The company also expressed appreciation to President John Dramani Mahama for his continued support for indigenous businesses and his advocacy for strengthening local enterprise as a driver of economic transformation.
KGL Group reaffirmed its commitment to supporting policies that empower Ghanaian businesses and contribute to building a resilient and self-reliant economy.
