Vice President, First Lady and Muntaka attend funeral rites of Sammy Gyamfi's in-law in Kumasi
The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, on Saturday joined Vice President Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang and First Lady Lordina Mahama in Kumasi to pay their final respects at the funeral of Mr. Andrews Kwame Amankwaa, the father-in-law of Sammy Gyamfi, Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board and National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The funeral brought together government officials, party executives, family members, and sympathisers who gathered to mourn and celebrate the life of the deceased.
Following the ceremony, the delegation also attended the funeral of Alhaji Yakubu, father of Comrade Moro, a member of the NDC’s Regional Communications Team.
Speaking after the events, Mr. Muntaka said such moments underscore the importance of compassion, unity, and solidarity during periods of grief.
He noted that the NDC remains committed to supporting its members and their families through difficult times.
The Interior Minister also extended his condolences and prayers to the bereaved families, praying for the peaceful repose of the departed and strength for their loved ones.
“May the departed souls find eternal rest, and may their memories continue to be a source of strength and inspiration to those they leave behind,” he said.
