A/R: Ghana Police Service interdicts inspector over alleged robbery in Kumasi
The Ashanti Regional Command of the Ghana Police Service has interdicted Police Inspector Bright Appiah Dankwah of the Asuoyeboah Police Station over his alleged involvement in a robbery attack on a mobile money vendor in Kumasi.
According to a police statement, the suspect was arrested by the Ashanti Regional Anti-Robbery Unit following intelligence-led operations.
Police said a search conducted at the inspector’s residences led to the retrieval of a Bruni Mod. 92 gas pistol, ammunition, and an amount of GHS 9,835.00 in cash.

The statement further noted that the suspect was arraigned before the Atasemanso Circuit Court on May 11, 2026.
He was subsequently remanded into police custody and is expected to reappear before the court on May 29, 2026.
The police indicated that investigations into the matter are ongoing.
The statement was signed by Deputy Superintendent of Police Godwin Ahianyo, Head of the Public Affairs Unit in the Ashanti Region.
