Prophet arrested for alleged death threats against Vice President Opoku-Agyemang
The Ghana Police Service has taken Prophet William Gyimah, General Overseer of Elohim International Ministry, into custody for allegedly threatening Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang in a viral video.
The arrest occurred on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, during an intelligence-led operation in Kasoa, Central Region.
Authorities say the video, which circulated on TikTok and other social media platforms, appeared to show the 49-year-old cleric issuing the threats.
The Inspector General of Police’s Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team (CVET) acted swiftly after the content was flagged through ongoing social media monitoring.
Prophet Gyimah has now been transferred to the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) for further investigations.
