GES announces recruitment of graduate teachers

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced a new recruitment exercise for graduates with education qualifications to apply for teaching positions within the Service.

In a vacancy announcement dated April 10, 2026, GES said it is seeking passionate and dedicated individuals who hold a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degree or a related qualification in education.

Job Role

Successful applicants will be required to facilitate learning using 21st-century technology and support learners with diverse needs to achieve strong outcomes. They are also expected to help students improve their research skills using modern tools and apply a variety of assessment methods to evaluate competencies.

Teachers will be guided by the National Teaching Standards and Code of Conduct to ensure professionalism and ethical practice, while also participating in continuous professional development programmes.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

- Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, or a relevant Bachelor’s Degree with a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE), Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), or Diploma in Basic Education.

- Have completed National Service.

- Be in good standing with the National Teaching Council and possess a valid teaching licence.

- Demonstrate strong communication and classroom management skills.

- Be willing to accept posting to deprived districts.

Application Process

Interested applicants are required to complete an online application form via the GES recruitment portal.

Applicants must upload the following documents:

- Degree or Diploma certificates

- National Service Certificate

- NTC licence

- Ghana Card

- Passport-sized photograph

- Active email address and phone number

GES noted that documents can be uploaded in either image or PDF format.

The application window runs from April 10 to April 17, 2026.
