Mahama inspects cardio centre project at Tamale Teaching Hospital
President John Dramani Mahama on Sunday, April 19, 2026, paid an inspection visit to ongoing construction works on a Cardio Centre at the Tamale Teaching Hospital in the Northern Region.
The visit, which will take place at 10:00 a.m., formed part of efforts to assess progress on the critical healthcare infrastructure project aimed at enhancing specialised cardiac care in the Northern Region and beyond.
The establishment of the Cardio Centre is expected to significantly improve access to advanced heart care services, reduce referrals to facilities in the southern part of the country, and strengthen Ghana’s overall healthcare delivery system.
The project is also anticipated to ease the burden on existing cardiac facilities while bringing life-saving treatment closer to residents in northern Ghana.
