Alhaji Haruna Mohammed, Deputy Director of Communications at the Pilgrims Affairs Office of Ghana (PAOG), has commended President John Dramani Mahama for his commitment to national development, citing the Kwahu Business Forum as a key example.

Speaking on the initiative on The Citizen Show on Accra 100,5 FM, Alhaji Mohammed described the forum as a strategic platform that reflects the government’s focus on driving economic growth and unlocking regional potential, particularly in the Eastern Region.

He credited Julius Debrah with originating the idea, noting that it received strong backing from President Mahama and has since helped to elevate the profile of Kwahu, especially during the annual Easter festivities.

According to him, the forum has boosted attention on tourism and created opportunities for business engagement, contributing to a more vibrant economic environment.

Alhaji Mohammed also pointed to what he described as improvements in macroeconomic stability under the current administration, including the strong performance of the Cedi and increased access to financing for businesses.

He contrasted these developments with the previous administration under former President Nana Akufo-Addo, criticising past economic policies which he said placed pressure on businesses.

He further noted that the Kwahu Business Forum is helping to bring stakeholders together, facilitate trade, and promote Ghana’s transition from a raw material-based economy to industrialisation.

The PAOG official expressed optimism that the initiative will continue to support economic transformation and create opportunities for growth across the country.
