The Deputy Minister for Food and Agriculture, John Dumelo, appeared before Parliament on Tuesday to respond to questions from colleagues regarding key agricultural initiatives.
Speaking on behalf of the Minister of Food and Agriculture, Eric Opoku, Mr. Dumelo addressed queries ranging from irrigation development and farm service centres to mechanisation programmes and the provision of farm inputs.
He emphasised the Ministry’s commitment to accountability and noted that the government is working “round the clock” to elevate Ghana’s agricultural sector, with the goal of achieving continental leadership in productivity and innovation.
Mr. Dumelo’s briefing highlighted ongoing efforts to modernise farming practices, strengthen infrastructure for farmers, and ensure access to essential resources, as part of a broader strategy to drive sustainable growth in Ghana’s agricultural economy.
