The Member for Gomoa West Constituency in the Central Region, Richard Gyan-Mensah has held a meeting with street hawkers and food vendors operating along the Gomoa Ankamu highway, also known as Apam Junction, following concerns over the impact of ongoing road construction works on their businesses.

The engagement brought together local authorities, including the District Chief Executive for Gomoa West District, Mohammed Kassim, who joined the interaction with the affected traders.

During the meeting, the traders were commended for their resilience and determination to continue operating despite the challenges posed by the construction activities.

The MP who is also the Deputy Minister for Energy and Green Transition assured the traders of government’s concern and support, particularly under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama.

He also advised the hawkers and vendors to remain cautious and prioritise safety while operating within the construction zone, describing the area as potentially hazardous during the ongoing works.

As part of efforts to support the affected traders, a cash donation was presented to help revive and sustain their businesses during the construction period.
