NDC 2028 race: Supporters highlight Eric Opoku’s leadership in agriculture and food security
Supporters of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) have outlined reasons behind growing confidence in the leadership of Eric Opoku, the Minister Food and Agriculture, citing progress in the agriculture sector and food security initiatives.
According to the group, Mr. Opoku’s tenure has been marked by a notable reduction in food inflation, which they attribute to targeted policies and interventions aimed at stabilising prices and improving supply.
They also pointed to the implementation of the Feed Ghana Programme as a key step toward strengthening national food security and boosting local production.
In addition, supporters highlighted the promotion of local poultry production through initiatives such as 'Akoko Nketenkete', which they say is helping to reduce reliance on imports while creating jobs within the agricultural value chain.
The group described Mr. Opoku’s leadership as results-driven and dependable, expressing confidence in his ability to sustain gains in the sector and support broader economic growth.
