NDC declares June as Month of Reflection and Ideological Renewal
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has declared June as its Month of Reflection and Ideological Renewal, with the party outlining a series of nationwide activities for the 2026 observance.
Speaking at a media briefing at the NDC headquarters in Adabraka, General Secretary Fiifi Fiavi Kwetey said the initiative is rooted in the party’s founding ideals and the legacy of the June 4 uprising, which he said promoted accountability and discipline in governance.
According to him, this year’s observance officially begins on May 15, a date he described as historically significant in the political evolution and ideological tradition of the party.
Mr. Kwetey stated that the activities are intended to serve as a renewal of the NDC’s core values, including probity, accountability, sacrifice, and selflessness.
He stressed that the commemorations are not merely ceremonial but are aimed at reinforcing the party’s commitment to serving the people.
The NDC General Secretary also cautioned against political movements becoming platforms for personal gain, insisting that the party must remain people-centred.
“Power belongs to the people,” he said.
