NPP debunks claim of alternative dues shortcode, describes allegations as false
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has dismissed as false and malicious claims circulating on social media that its National Treasurer is diverting party dues through an unauthorized shortcode.
In a press release issued on April 22, 2026, the Office of the National Treasurer refuted allegations published on a Facebook page identified as “Wo Boooowa,” which suggested that party dues were being collected through the shortcode 7142028#.
According to the statement, the claims are intended to undermine the party’s ongoing dues collection efforts and do not reflect the reality of its financial operations.
The party clarified that its official dues collection shortcode remains 920270#, stressing that at no point has the shortcode cited in the viral publication been used for revenue collection.
The Office of the National Treasurer urged party members and the general public to disregard the false information and rely only on officially sanctioned communication channels.
The NPP further assured stakeholders of its commitment to transparency and integrity in its financial processes.
