Offinso North District Chief Executive Ceasar Ofosu Acheampong has passionately appealed to local folks and political actors in the area to slow down on what he describes as "over politicisation" of issues in relation to the District Assembly concept.

‎According to him, politicisation of critical issues and development initiatives gravely undermines the efforts to achieve the vision of the assembly or meet the aspirations of constituents, thereby retarding development.

‎Speaking to journalists on the sidelines of a marathon engagement during a town hall meeting with community folks at Akumadan in the Offinso North District of Ashanti Region, Mr Ofosu Acheampong lamented how some activists often seek to bastardise initiatives by the assembly as well as the penchant to disregard or defy a national policy such as the National Sanitation Day programme due to partisan politics.

‎"My piece of advice to your followers is [on] over politicisation; let us reduce the politicisation of issues. Even if something is good for our general well-being, some people would always speak ill of it and project it as something bad for the society. That is why some locals feel reluctant to participate in the National Sanitation Day activities because they feel their party is not in government," he admonished.

‎"Let us reduce the politicisation especially when it comes to the assembly programmes and initiatives, irrespective of party colours, whether your party is in power or not, such projects or policies would not be taken away when leaving the office. That way, we are sure to achieve the development we so desire," the DCE urged.

‎The DCE's town hall meeting initiative dubbed 'Accounting to the People' is part of several other activities outlined to mark the DCE's one year anniversary since assuming office in May 2025

‎Reflecting on his new role as DCE, Ceasar Ofosu Acheampong noted that his biggest achievement over the period has been educational infrastructure and logistical improvement, helping to uplift education standards in the district.

‎"My biggest achievement is in terms of education. If you look at the number of infrastructure we have been able to complete under education from May 2025 to today, we've done massive work. We have done one 12-unit classroom block, another three-unit classroom block - three-unit classroom blocks alone amounts to four, making 12 classrooms. Plus another 12, so in terms of education, we have done great," the DCE touted.

‎Ceasar Ofosu Acheampong further revealed his assembly's performance in other areas such as health, water and sanitation, and security, amongst others, pledging his unwavering commitment to developing the district relentlessly.

‎The remaining round of engagement with residents in the Accounting to the People series have been scheduled to take place at Nkenkanso, Darso and Amponsahkrom respectively, aiming to solicit ideas and concerns from constituents while explaining his outfit's activities, policies and programmes for inclusivity purposes.
