Black Asteroids to represent Ghana in FIFAe Nations League 2026 Qualifiers
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced that the national eFootball team, the Black Asteroids, will compete in the FIFAe Nations League 2026 qualifiers.
The competition forms part of the qualification process for the FIFAe World Cup 2026, with matches set to begin on April 14, 2026. In Match Week 1, Ghana will face DR Congo, Libya, South Sudan and Seychelles in Group C.
The qualifiers will be played online over three weeks, with national teams earning Consistency Points based on their performances in both the group and knockout stages.
At the end of the FIFAe Nations League, teams can qualify for the FIFAe Continental Championships either by accumulating the highest points across all three weeks or by securing a top position in Week 3.
The FIFAe Continental Championships will serve as the final stage of qualification for the FIFAe World Cup 2026, bringing together top teams from each region.
Ghana will compete in the eFootball Console category, where the Black Asteroids are currently ranked 24th in the world.
The GFA also announced a partnership with the National Information Technology Agency (NITA) to support the team with internet services. The partnership is expected to improve connectivity for the team during the competition.
“The Black Asteroids embody the future of Ghanaian football in the digital space. Their participation in the FIFAe Regional Online Qualifiers is a reflection of our belief in the potential of eFootball to project Ghana onto the global stage. We are proud of their journey and confident they will make the nation proud,” the GFA said.
