DR Congo: Veron Mosengo-Omba elected new FECOFA president
Former Confederation of African Football (CAF) Secretary General Veron Mosengo-Omba has been elected president of the Federation Congolaise de Football Association (FECOFA).
The election took place during the federation’s General Assembly in Kinshasa on Wednesday.
Mosengo-Omba, who was the sole candidate, secured 60 votes out of 65 ballots cast. Three delegates voted against his candidacy, while two ballots were invalid.
He will lead FECOFA for the next four years.
Mosengo-Omba previously served as CAF Secretary General and is expected to bring administrative and governance experience to the DR Congo football federation.
His election comes as FECOFA seeks to strengthen its structures and improve the management of football in the country.
