FIFA WC 2026: See Ghana's Group L matches' schedule
The schedule for Ghana’s opening matches at the 2026 FIFA World Cup has been confirmed, with Panama set as their first opponents.
Ghana was drawn on Friday, December 5, 2025, into Group L — the final group of the tournament — alongside England, Croatia and Panama.
Under the guidance of head coach Otto Addo, the Black Stars will face their group rivals in the aforementioned order.
Ghana’s Group L fixtures:
- June 17: Ghana vs Panama — BMO Field, Toronto (7 PM ET)
- June 23: England vs Ghana — Boston Stadium (4 PM ET)
- June 27: Croatia vs Ghana — Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia (5 PM ET)
This marks Ghana’s fifth appearance at the global showpiece. Their best performance remains the unforgettable 2010 World Cup in South Africa, where the Black Stars came agonisingly close to becoming the first African team to reach the semi-finals — a dream halted by a missed last-minute penalty from Asamoah Gyan. Reflecting on the current campaign at the final draw event, Gyan described Group L as “very tricky,” even as he maintained optimism about Ghana’s prospects.
The 104 matches for the World Cup, will begin with one-third of the hosts Mexico vs South Africa, June 11, 2026.
Canada, and the United States of America are the remaining joint hosts of the historic 48-nation games.
