UDS retain African university football title with 2-1 final win
Ghana’s University for Development Studies (UDS) have been crowned African university football champions for the second consecutive time.
UDS defeated Julius Nyerere University of Guinea 2-1 in the final on Wednesday in Cairo.
The victory makes UDS the first university in African university football to win the continental title in consecutive editions.
UDS also won the FISU World University Football Championship in 2025.
The Tamale-based university reached this year’s final after beating Egypt’s Delta University 4-0 in the semi-finals.
The back-to-back continental titles mark another achievement for Ghanaian university football.
