Ghana’s Black Stars will begin their campaign to qualify for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) with two crucial matches against Ivory Coast and The Gambia next month.

The four-time African champions will first travel to Abidjan to face host nation Ivory Coast between 23rd and 25th September 2026. 

The team will then return home to take on The Gambia at a yet-to-be-confirmed venue in Accra from 27th to 29th September 2026.

The back-to-back West African fixtures are expected to test the Black Stars early in the qualifying series as they aim to secure a spot at the 2027 tournament.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) is yet to announce the exact dates and kick-off times for both matches. 

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is also expected to name the squad and confirm the venue for the home game in the coming weeks.

The Black Stars will be hoping to start the qualifiers on a strong note and build momentum ahead of subsequent fixtures in the group.
