Former Asante Kotoko player and head coach, Michael Osei dies at 53

Mr Micheal Osei reportedly passed away in London after being rushed to the hospital with chest pains, leaving the Ghanaian football community and those who knew him in shock.

A stalwart for the Porcupine Warriors during his playing days, Osei later transitioned into coaching, where he made a significant impact.

Most recently, he managed Bibiani Gold Stars, guiding the team to an impressive fifth-place finish in the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season.

On the national front, Mr Osei served as an assistant coach for Ghana’s U23 team, the Black Meteors, contributing his expertise to developing young talent.

He was also an active member of the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG), where he was widely respected for his dedication to advancing Ghanaian football.

The loss of Michael Osei is deeply felt across Ghana’s football community, where his legacy as both a player and coach will be remembered.
