Ghanaian Highlife musician Adane Best has dismissed rumours suggesting he is seriously ill and in urgent need of financial support to recover.

Speaking to Oyokodehye Kofi on Accra 100.5 FM’s Highlife Time show on Saturday, May 16, 2026, the singer described the claims as false.

“It is not true. I also ask for God's forgiveness for those who started and spread that rumour,” he said.

Adane Best suggested that individuals behind the rumours may be attempting to use his name and condition to make money through dishonest means.

“More especially someone of repute - you shouldn't use their life and health to make illicit money,” he added.

The musician stated that he does not know who initiated the rumours but confirmed that the matter has been reported to the police.

He disclosed that he also used his social media platforms to deny the claims publicly.

“The police are actively investigating but haven't yet made any arrests,” he said.

“I am actually not that much interested in an arrest. I just want everyone to know it's false.”

When asked about when the rumours started circulating, Adane Best said he experienced a strange feeling around the same period the reports emerged.

“The next day, I had an international call informing me this is the news going round. This corresponded with the strange and unsettling feeling within my body. Right away, I noticed why I couldn't sleep the night before. I immediately debunked it on my social media and informed a policeman at Amanfrom who assured me the service would look into it,” he narrated.

The singer cautioned people against spreading false information about the health or death of others for financial gain.

“You may be thinking you're making money but you're destroying your name, too,” he added.

Adane Best also thanked Oyokodehye Kofi for the support shown to him during the recent burial of his father at the Bukom Boxing Arena.

He further urged the public to be cautious about false reports and again asked for God’s forgiveness for those spreading the rumours.
