Richie Mensah interviews himself on Masterminds podcast

Legendary music executive Richie Mensah has announced the end of his artist management career through Lynx Entertainment.

He made the announcement on the Masterminds podcast in an episode filmed to portray him interviewing himself.

According to Richie Mensah, stepping away from artist management is the fulfilment of a personal promise.

“I promised myself that when I get to 40, I was going to retire from music, and I'm honouring that promise. I value promises to myself,” he said.

He explained that he has gradually been “phasing out the music management side of Lynx” in preparation for the transition.

Richie Mensah, who managed several notable Ghanaian artistes over the years, first gained prominence in artist management with Hiplife icon Asem, whose hit song Gimme Blow became one of Lynx Entertainment’s earliest successes.

Over the years, Lynx Entertainment also managed artistes including Eazzy, MzVee, Kuami Eugene and KiDi.

“Currently, Lynx no longer manages any artists. Lynx is officially out of the artist management business,” he stated.

The businessman, singer-songwriter and record producer disclosed that Lynx Entertainment has now transitioned into a distribution company.

He added that what is receiving his “full energy” is now a brand called Lynx Electronics.

“For 20 years, I have created sound and music for people to enjoy but now focusing on a way they can listen and enjoy that music,” he noted.

Richie Mensah referenced the launch of Lynx Reverb headphones last year and revealed that the company is preparing to introduce another product.

“And very soon, we'll be coming out with our own speakers called Lynx Octave,” he said.

Despite his decision to step away from artist management, Richie Mensah acknowledged that the future remains unpredictable and left open the possibility of a return to the business.
