Funke Akindele explains why she stopped attending church physically
Popular Nollywood actress Funke Akindele has revealed why she no longer attends church services in person.
Speaking in a Snapchat video on Sunday, the actress said she gradually lost interest in going to church because the attention during services was often directed at her instead of the worship.
According to her, people frequently focused on taking photos of her whenever she attended, leading her to switch to online services.
“Anytime I go to church, I am always the one they take pictures of. So I will join online,” she said.
In 2022, Akindele publicly identified herself as a member of the Celestial Church of Christ.
At the time, she explained that she often visited the church quietly at night whenever she faced challenges but later decided to openly associate herself with the church.
“Every time I have challenges, I go to the Celestial church quietly at night for solutions. But I have to stop hiding and publicly identify with the church,” she said.
