Ghanaian Afrobeats artiste Kelvyn Boy has reiterated his commitment to promoting highlife music, urging industry players to remain grounded in the genre as a core part of Ghana’s musical identity.

Speaking in an interview on 3FM Drive, the “Down Flat” hitmaker emphasised the importance of preserving highlife, noting that blending it with Afrobeats could give Ghanaian music a unique global appeal.

“I’ve come to really believe in highlife. Even when we do Afrobeats, if we truly connect it with the highlife element, it’s going to help us,” he said.

He also pointed to a growing global interest in Ghanaian culture, suggesting that moments such as independence celebrations continue to showcase the richness of the country’s heritage and music.

Meanwhile, fellow Ghanaian musician Article Wan has raised concern among fans after sharing an emotional message on social media about an ongoing personal struggle.

In the post, the artiste disclosed that he has not been himself for several years, hinting at a deeper challenge he described as spiritual in nature.

“It’s deeply spiritual and I can’t be mute at this moment because it’s way out of my control,” he wrote.

Article Wan appealed to the public for prayers and support, adding, “Abeg pray for me. God help and protect me.”

His message has since triggered an outpouring of support from fans and colleagues in the music industry, many of whom have responded with words of encouragement and prayers
