'Know where you're coming from' — McBrown Claps back at critics
Ghanaian actress and television host Nana Ama McBrown has addressed comments made about her on a podcast hosted by media personality Sammy Flex, expressing disappointment over what she described as a lack of respect for her contributions to Ghana's entertainment industry.
The discussion stemmed from McBrown's recent remarks suggesting that organisers of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) should compensate her for appearances on the event's red carpet. Her comments became a topic of debate on Sammy Flex's podcast, where some panelists reportedly questioned her position and described her views as unrealistic.
Reacting to the discussion on her television programme, Onua Showtime, McBrown defended her stance and criticized what she considered unfair commentary about her career and achievements.
According to the actress, she had previously spoken directly with Sammy Flex during a meeting in the United Kingdom and made her views clear regarding discussions about her on his platform.
McBrown stated that she has spent years contributing to the growth of Ghana's entertainment industry and believes that effort deserves recognition. She argued that individuals discussing her should acknowledge the role she has played in helping shape the industry before passing judgment on her opinions.
The award-winning actress further stressed that she prefers addressing disagreements directly with people involved rather than speaking about them behind their backs. She noted that whenever she has concerns with someone, she chooses face-to-face conversations to seek clarification and resolve issues.
McBrown also insisted that her conversation with Sammy Flex was aimed at seeking answers rather than creating tension. She explained that she wanted to understand why her comments had become a subject of discussion on his platform and used the opportunity to make her position clear. The actress further reiterated her preference for addressing concerns directly with individuals involved whenever misunderstandings arise.
